Inexperience

Postby MKDF » Sat Jan 13, 2018 7:31 pm

So much if it was on display today. Unable to handle the pressure.

A relatively weak, inexperienced team (not all of it enforced) giving an error-strewn display.

Add to that far too little pressing or focus, or quality and we have another woeful display at SMK.

The Donfidence index will be sobering reading this month.

I said I would be satisfied with a draw and I haven't changed my mind. Yes it wasn't a good game, but that's why we are where we are. I am more concerned with the injuries to Golbourne and Walsh. It has been said that this changes Robbbie Neilson's transfer plans. I would still say we need a zippy winger as well as a left back, assuming neither Lewie nor Ben Tilney are coming back.

Right where to start!
Where's Ariybi? Is Nesbitt still injured, was supposed to be involved today?
Performance, clueless, errors all over the park, no width, no creativity, oh hold on, that's the season!
Two poor sides, awful game, visitors should have won, both sides going down.

I did say pre-match, it wouldn't be a classic and wasn't wrong!! Agree with WarwickDons that the visitors had the better of it and could have won. No excuses for the manager, he has got rid of players he considers to be past it or surplus to requirements and replaced them with worse! So disappointing to watch this week in week out!

I still say Dean Lewington is better than any defender we had on show today and it may not be a bad idea for Neilson to patch up his differences with him before it's too late!

There looks to be a rot setting in.

We field a weak side - ignoring some of our better players - and then they don’t perform. I don’t understand it.

I had a quick look at the highlights, which confirmed my suspicions watching live.

I’m beginning to wonder whether RN will outlast January.

The match stats don't look good. They beat us in every stat except goals. They even out fouled us, without getting any extra cards .

We need to do a lot better even to get a draw at Northampton.

And yet they were awful, so the stats are even more damning. We made it very easy for them, and we had all the speed of a Loris.

I would say that they were organised in defence but couldn't score. Ardley seems satisfied that it was a draw, which is surprising.

As much as he obviously doesn't want to see us get relegated, I'll be surprised if Winkie sacks Neilson at this stage. If such a thing does happen the biggest influence could be more down to what's happening off the pitch than what's happening on it, I heard more disturbing rumours yesterday (hope that is all they are) regarding unsettled players and if true it certainly can't be having a good influence on player's performances on the field.

One thing is for certain, we need to improve and quickly because our end of season run in doesn't look easy.
