Feature on MK Dons - fans needed!

Postby jimdaly » Mon Apr 09, 2018 10:43 am

Hi there,

I hope you don't mind me posting unsolicited here but I need some help from MK Dons fans.

I'm Jim, a football writer and I'm coming to the game on Saturday vs Doncaster to do a feature on MK Dons for DreamteamFC.com; trying to get the feeling around the club at the moment and I'd love to chat to a few fans at the game. They sent me to AFC Wimbledon last week and I said only if I can the come to MK Dons as well for fairness and balance.

Plus I know Keith Millen from his time at Palace so hoping to catch up with him for the piece also!

Would any fans be able to spare me five minutes either before or after the game for a chat? Happy to do it at the ground or in the pub, and will buy you a pint for your troubles and your time.

I want this piece to have as much of a fans' voice as possible as, IMO, the fans are the most important thing at any club.

Please reply below or DM me or email me: jamesrmdaly@gmail.com - whatever you prefer.

Thank you for reading this!

Jim

It might be worthwhile for any Dons fans to read this before you respond.

Thanks for that Stony.
As usual there is some truth in what has been written but a lot of the truth has been downplayed or not even mentioned. For instance, Jim Daly states that AFC's failure to acknowledge our name on the programme is pettiness he can really get behind. Yet he fails to mention that this contravenes FA regulations and an enquiry into this act is still on-going.
Regarding hospitality to fellow chairman and directors, the first time we played each other was at stadium:MK and AFC refused our invitation to sit in the directors area. When the return fixture took place our leaders were not offered seats for so-called "security" reasons. Who is the discourteous party here?
There is a sub-headline stating we should apologize. What for may I ask, we did nothing legally wrong and the move was agreed by an independent panel and approved by the FA. But of course, Mr. Daly ignores that and brands us "illegitimate." Had he used quotation marks when he used that word I might have understood what he was getting at, but no, his mind is already made up.
There is much more that hasn't been said but lack of space might have been part reason, that Mr. Daly's mind is already made-up could be a larger reason.

Thanks for that Stony. I wont be contributing to the article, though I don't suppose there would be any surprise questions if we were to chat. ;)

Good to hear that you enjoyed your day, most visitors do although that is (too) often due in part to their returning home three points richer!
I find your report fair enough although you were certainly keeping your gun-powder dry. I agree that we Dons' supporters probably are very defensive and feel massively misrepresented, and you did add that it is not difficult to see why!
If I may end by giving you a little piece of advice; marry your fiancé Miranda asap, she knows what she is talking about. ;)
