Goalkeeper Training Sessions 2017

Postby fairplay » Mon Mar 27, 2017 11:03 pm

Evening All,

The League is - for the fourth year - arranging specialty Goalkeeper Coaching sessions for all member Clubs and we are again looking at running two 8 week courses.

These are free sessions open to all member clubs and all we ask is a commitment to attend the full 8 week course so as to not waste the space for someone else.
Places are limited so please make sure that you book places early to avoid disappointment.
Anyone booking a place and then not attending will be charged £10 for that session. Please note that this does not mean that a player who books to attend the full course – but then informs us that they are unable to attend on specific dates due to holiday commitments (or other) will be charged. It is simply aimed at those who cannot be bothered to turn up on the day.
Hopefully all Clubs can understand why we are imposing this – and will work with us to ensure it is not necessary.

The sessions will run on a Wednesday evening at Kents Hill Pavilion with the first session (from 6pm to 7pm) for U8 - U11 age groups; and the second session (from 7pm to 8pm) for U12 - U18 age groups.

The first course will run on the following dates:
26th April
3rd May
10th May
17th May
24th May
31st May
14th June
21st June

and the second block of sessions will be:
5th July
12th July
19th July
26th July
9th August
16th August
23rd August
30th August

The sessions will – as in previous years – be overseen by Chris Hissey who is a qualified, and experienced goalkeeper coach whose resume includes:

FA level 1 & Level 2 Goalkeeper Coach
FA level 2 Coach
FA Youth Modules 1 & 2
FA Emergency Aid
FA Safeguarding Children

Coaching Experience:
4 years as Goalkeeper Coach at Aston Clinton Colts FC
3 Years as Goalkeeper Coach for R&D Coaching coaching all Goalkeepers at their Friday night Development Centre
3 years as Goalkeeper Coach for Bedford School Jan-March each year
2 years as Berks/Bucks Girls Player Development Centre Goalkeeper Coach
He has also set up and run successful Goalkeeper Centres in Leighton Buzzard

Successes to date include currently having 2 Goalkeepers at Luton Town (1 is currently having trials with Spurs) 1 Goalkeeper at MK Dons & 2 U15's GK's at Aston Clinton Colts due to go to Oxford FC for trials.

Anyone wishing to attend these courses should apply direct to Chris on his email address of chrishissey2002@yahoo.co.uk.
The applications should include:

Players name
Team & age group
Parents mobile contact number
Any medical conditions we need to be aware of.

Priority will naturally be given to players from teams playing in the MKBCYFL but Member Clubs are welcome to apply for any of their other teams as well - and these will be accommodated where possible.
Clubs that are not affiliated to the League may also apply - and will be allocated spaces where available - but will be charged £20 for the course.
