Goalkeeper Training Sessions

Postby fairplay » Tue Mar 20, 2018 9:28 pm

The League is - for the fifth consecutive year - arranging free specialty Goalkeeper Coaching sessions for all member Clubs and we are again looking at running two 8 week courses through the summer.

These are sessions open to all member clubs and all we ask is a commitment to attend the full 8 week course so as to not waste the space for someone else.
Places are limited to 16 so please make sure that you book places early to avoid disappointment.
Anyone booking a place and then not attending will be charged £10 for that session. Please note that this does not mean that a player who books to attend the full course – but then informs us that they are unable to attend on specific dates due to holiday commitments (or other) will be charged. It is simply aimed at those who cannot be bothered to turn up on the day. Hopefully all Clubs can understand why we are imposing this – and will work with us to ensure it is not necessary. So far we have not had to apply this.

The sessions will run on a Wednesday evening at Kents Hill Pavilion (the home of MK Wanderers – who we thank for the use) with the first session (from 6pm to 7pm) for U8 - U11 age groups; and the second session (from 7pm to 8pm) for U12 - U16 age groups.

The first course will run on the following dates:
25th April
2nd May
9th May
16th May
(23rd & 30th May no Session)
6th June
13th June
20th June
27th June

the second block of sessions will be:
4th July
11th July
18th July
25th July
(1st August no Session)
8th August
15th August
22nd August
29th August

The sessions will – as in previous years – be run by Chris Hissey who is a qualified, and experienced goalkeeper coach whose resume includes:

Technical Director at Just4keepers Bucks & Herts.
FA level 1 & Level 2 Goalkeeper Coach.
FA level 2 Coach.
FA Youth Modules 1 & 2.
FA Emergency Aid.
FA Safeguarding Children.

Coaching Experience:

5 years as Goalkeeper Coach for Bedford School Jan-March each year
4 years as Goalkeeper Coach at Aston Clinton Colts FC
3 Years as Goalkeeper Coach for R&D Coaching at their Development Centre
3 years coaching experience at Just4Keepers Bucks & Herts.
2 years as Berks/Bucks Girls Player Development Centre Goalkeeper Coach
2 years coaching at Risborough rangers FC

He has also set up and run successful Goalkeeper Centres in Leighton Buzzard

Anyone wishing to attend these courses should apply direct to Chris on his email address of chrishissey2002@yahoo.co.uk.
The applications should include:

Players name.
Team & age group.
Parents mobile contact number.
Any medical conditions we need to be aware of.

Priority will naturally be given to players from teams playing in the MKBCYFL but Member Clubs are welcome to apply for any of their other teams as well - and these will be accommodated where possible.
Clubs that are not affiliated to the League may also apply - and will be allocated spaces where available - but will be charged £30 for the course.
