Latest club accounts

Postby MKDF » Sat Dec 30, 2017 1:12 pm

MK Dons Limited:

Revenue £6.6m (2016: £11.7m) down due to lower gates, broadcasting receipts and league payments. Costly relegation!
Profit £0.426m (2016: loss £0.018m) up due to higher player sales and tax write back.
Cash £0.267m (2016: £0.366m)
Net debt £9.3m (2016: 9.6m)

Relegation shock has been kept under control.

Inter MK accounts due Feb/March time.

You can’t really assess on profit after tax as the large tax credit is a payment for group relief.

We made a loss of 2.8m before profit on player transfers of 1.1m.

Yes - 2.8m! Not sure how that can be sustained going forward. Are there any large profits on transfer sales coming?

Anyone who moans at lack of investment should read the accounts.

True we need the Group accounts to asses the full picture. The tax write back is still beneficial.

But you're right that other parts of the group continue to prop up the club.

One thing is certain: we can't afford another relegation...

What effect did the Dele transfer have on the net debt for the relevant period D50 / MKDF?
We all know that the ultimate target and my brief, is to get MK promoted and then promoted. PT

We have net debt of £9m AFTER making £7m profit on player transfers over the past three years. It’s not necessarily fair to say we would have net debt of £16m without those transfer profits, mind. We would probably have made some different decisions had we not sold Dele.

Ta for that, but what was the change in net debt before/after the Dele money arrived?
Didn't we have something similar to £9m net debt before Dele was sold? :?

No, it was £11.2m

Over the past two years this has reduced by £1.5m to £9.7m. This is made up by:

Operating losses - £5.5m
Profit on transfers - £6.2m - mostly Dele, I guess
Receipt of Group relief for tax losses - £0.8m

So, the Dele money has reduced net debt a little but the annual losses have to be financed somehow.

Ah, thanks for clarifying D50.
I thought the net effect of Dele on the debt would have been bigger than that, however the avoidable relegation from the Championship (had PW sacked Robinson in time...) and its corresponding impact on revenues appears to have been even more costly than we imagined at the time. :(
